1. Technical Assistance Contact for HemoCue:  We have had some inquiries from local WIC providers on whom to contact at HemoCue for technical assistance on questions and problems with the HemoCue analyzer.  We have contacted HemoCue who has provided the following telephone number: 1-800-426-7256.  Amanda, Victor, Josie and Vincent are available for your technical assistance questions.  These staff can answer questions on issues such as power cord problems and general problems with the analyzers or make the appropriate connections to someone who can address a more complicated problem.  Please contact Crystal Collins at Crystal.Collins@dhss.mo.gov with questions.
2. Mandatory March WIC Program Updates Training:  The one-day sessions will provide attendees with updated program information and clarification regarding new program issues. The training will be delivered on-site at several locations and dates throughout the state.Training locations are listed below.

Agenda items include:  USDA 3-digit risk factor codes, USDA Revision 8 Dietary Risk Factors, Nutrition Assessment, HANDS Nutrition Assessment Screens and Data Mart.

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

March 22, 2007 - Northeastern District Office, 708 Patton, Macon
March 27, 2007- Location to be determined at a later date, St. Louis

Please review agenda items to determine appropriate staff to attend. At a minimum the Nutrition Coordinator from each agency must attend the training. The registration form is attached. Fax the registration form as instructed to the State WIC office by Wednesday, February 28, 2007.; Please register using the attached form only.

3. Ross Product Change: Glass Bottle (4-ounce) to Plastic Bottle (2-ounce):  Ross Products has been phasing out all 4-ounce glass products currently available at retail stores and replacing them with 2-ounce plastic bottles.  Please see the attached sheet.  When issuing Ross products in 2-ounce plastic bottles, please use an OTH food package with sequence 5 (two cases per check 1-4 and cereal/juices on the 5th check) and a food item code (060) until you receive new food package codes.  Please issue 8 cases per month.  Please DO NOT issue any more than two cases per check.  If you have any questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@dhss.mo.gov.
4. Revised Nutrition Education Report Form (WIC 49):  Attached is the revised Nutrition Education Report Form (WIC 49) and is available at the DHSS warehouse.  Please order the WIC 49 form as needed.  If you have any questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@dhss.mo.gov.
