Seasonal Flu Vaccine
So many people received this year’s vaccinations early that supplies of seasonal flu vaccine have been depleted at many public clinics. Significant supplies, however, are still available at many private health care providers. Therefore, please contact your regular physicians or health care professionals to determine whether they have the vaccine available. You can also contact your local health department to find out whether it still has seasonal flu vaccine available. The local health department also may be able to direct you to local providers who have the vaccine available.
Vaccination is the best way to avoid the flu. You should also these take simple steps to limit the spread of the flu virus:
Wash your hands frequently;
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough, and cough into your elbow, not your hands;
Stay home when you are sick. If you have flu-like symptoms, remain at home until 24 hours after your fever subsides to avoid spreading the virus to co-workers, fellow students or others in the community.
