J-1 Visa
The J-1 Visa/State 30 Waiver Programs allow the Department of Health and Senior Services to request, from the US Department of State, waivers of the requirement for foreign medical graduates to return to their native country. This is done in exchange for three years of service in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) in Missouri.
Applications are accepted from October 1 through September 30 of each year. Employers must complete and submit an Employment Data Sheet form with the application package to establish participation eligibility.
