Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program

Counseling Guides
Counseling guides are designed to provide standardized, scientifically based counseling information, which may be used by a competent professional authority or nutritionist.  Their use is not required, but the components found in the guide (critical thinking questions, scientifically based counseling information, referral and follow up) should be a part of any effective counseling session.  Currently the child's nutrition counseling guide is the only one available, but future guides will include nutritional needs for Women and Infants; and biochemical and anthropometric guides for Women, Infants and Children.

Health and Nutrition Assessment Handbook (HNAH)
This is an interactive electronic document for the local WIC Provider to use when obtaining the health and/or nutrition assessment during the certification or recertification process.  The handbook covers general guidelines when conducting anthropometric measurement, anemia screening, oral inspections, immunizations, abbreviations and symbols, which are used in the Missouri WIC Program.
