Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) Program

Executive Order 08-04 transferred the SAFE Program from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to the Missouri Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Effective July 1, 2008, appropriate medical providers are required to bill the Department of Public Safety (DPS) for charges incurred in collecting evidence during the forensic examination of the sexual assault victim.
