Tuberculosis (TB Disease, Consumption, Phthisis)
Tuberculosis Information Management System
The Tuberculosis Information Management System (TIMS) is a database developed by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention and used by individual states to maintain a variety of demographic and case information on all
tuberculosis disease cases that occur within each state. Geographic and incidence information from TIMS is aggregated
on a monthly basis, with the resulting report showing year-to-date information for Missouri Department of Health and
Senior Services Health Regions and specific metropolitan areas. A comparison of the current year incidence to the
previous year is included in each monthly report as well as a percent of cases considered preventable using guidelines
determined by CDC and reviewed by the Missouri Tuberculosis Disease Elimination Program staff.
Weeks referenced in the monthly reports are based on the CDC calendar, which calculates a
week from Sunday through Saturday. To view the CDC calendar, click on current or previous year.
