What is an adult day care program?
An adult day care program is a group program designed to provide care and supervision to meet the needs of five (5) or more functionally impaired adults for periods of less than twenty-four (24) hours but more than two (2) hours per day in a place other than the adult's own home.

What is the difference between a medical model Adult Day Health Care and a social model Adult Day Care?
An Adult Day Health Care is a medical model program certified to provide Medicaid reimbursed services to Medicaid eligible participants as required by the division of Medical Services in accordance with the standards in 13 CSR 70-92.00. An Adult Day Care program provides social activities and is not required to provide medical services. As a social program, an Adult Day Care participant is not eligible for Medicaid reimbursement.
