Intervention MICA is an interactive, evidence-based public health intervention planning tool. It provides information, tools and resources for intervention design, implementation and evaluation. In addition, Intervention MICA does the following:

  • Provides users with an increased understanding of evidence-based public health processes.
  • Describes effective intervention practices to improve community health.
  • Offers interventions to create changes in individuals as well as interpersonal relationships, organizations, environments and policies that influence health.
  • Summarizes existing interventions to create changes in known determinants of health problems.
  • Encourages users to consider multiple strategies and settings for intervention.
  • Ensures that all materials are accessible to multiple audiences (e.g., lay-friendly language and visual cues).
  • Links users to other resources and websites supporting evidence-based intervention planning.
