Once you have a good sense of your readiness, you may also want to think through the special needs of your community of interest. Intervention MICA provides additional resources and information to guide you in preparation for working in and with your community of interest as follows:

  • Who is the community of interest? A process to help you define the community that will benefit from your intervention can be found by going to assessment and prioritization.
  • Can you meet the needs of your community of interest? Tools and information to help you prepare to work in and with the community of interest include:
      • Partnerships provides a description of why partnerships are important to interventions and steps on how to create partnerships. Revisit this page as needed to engage new partners that will address your community’s needs.
      • Capacity provides information and tools to enhance your ability to carry out your intervention, including:
        • Organizational capacity provides information to help you build skills, resources and support within your partnership or organization.
        • Budget preparation provides a guide to planning your budget and preparing for your financial needs related to the intervention.
        • Cultural competence provides recommendations for working in diverse populations and within different cultural contexts.
