MC+
Healthy Children
Most health insurance covers well-child exams on a regular schedule.
Children without health insurance may be eligible for MC+.
This program provides healthcare coverage for children less than
19 years of age whose family income falls within certain guidelines.
Contact 1-800-275-5908, or the local Family Support Division office,
or use the MC+ web site
to learn about the program's qualifications and to obtain an application.
Or call 1-800-TEL-LINK (1-800-835-5465) for the location of the
local Family Support Division office.
In Missouri, the MC+ program covers the cost of well-child
exams, known as Healthy Children and Youth (HCY) exams. In addition,
MC+ covers the medically necessary care if the health
care provider finds a problem during the HCY exams. MC+ dental checkups and care begin at age 6-12 months. Children less
than 6 years of age should also get an annual checkup for lead
poisoning.
Individuals who qualify for MC+ and do not have transportation
to the doctor's appointments may get help with transportation. Call
1-888-863-9513 for further information on the Non-Emergency Medical
Transportation program.
