Missouri Head Injury Advisory Council
The Missouri Head Injury Advisory Council is to be comprised of twenty-five members of which twenty-one
are appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of the Missouri Senate. The twenty-one members are
to represent consumers, families with a member with a head injury, professionals, proprietary schools,
private industry, health industry and state agencies which administer programs regarding education, mental
health, health, Medicaid, insurance, and public safety. Four members are to represent the Missouri General
Assembly of which two members are to be state representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives for the remainder of their terms and two members are to be state senators appointed by the
Senate President Pro-Tempore for the remainder of their terms.
The council members elect a chair and vice chair for a term of one year at the September meeting in
accordance with the bylaws.
