Family Care Safety Registry

Children’s Division, Department of Social Services
Child Abuse/Neglect Records

The Family Care Safety Registry maintains a computer interface with the Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) information maintained by Children’s Division/Department of Social Services. The CA/N database, (also called the Division of Family Services’ Central Registry), contains the names of individuals who have been determined, through a Department of Social Services case investigation, to be perpetrators of child abuse and/or neglect.

Child abuse and neglect findings include:

  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Educational neglect
  • Medical neglect
  • Physical neglect
  • Emotional maltreatment

An individual's name will be added to the Central Registry if the Children’s Division case investigation yields a finding of preponderance of evidence, probable cause, reason to suspect, or court adjudication that abuse did occur. For more information contact, (573) 522-8024.
