Dr. Kerr made a
motion to accept the minutes.
Dr. Caccamo seconded the motion.
The Board voted to approve the minutes. |
19 CSR 30-81.010
General Certification Requirements |
Janice Frank explained
that this amendment changes the name of the agency throughout
the rule due to the Transfer of the Division of Aging from
the Department of Social Services to the Department of Health
and Senior Services. |
Dr. Kerr made a
motion to accept the minutes.
Dr. Caccamo seconded the motion.
The Board voted to accept the changes to

In section 11 – Missouri
Assisted Living voiced concern regarding section 12, so they
restored section 11.
Dr. Kerr noted that their uneasiness is most
likely due to the fact that they aren't as regulated as
nursing homes, etc. Other board members echoed his concerns. |
Ms. Frank will take
the board's concerns back and inform the board on the progress. |
MOve to Improve
Board Focus Group |
Dr. Caccamo attended
the Focus Group for the department's strategic planning process.
The process is very strategic and is looking
at ways of exploring break through health improvement in
Missouri. |

Rx |
Jerry Simon came
to speak to the board about the Medicare Rx Outreach Program.
Jerry gave board members a packet of marketing
materials and the plan of Missouri Rx to reach seniors
who should enroll for the program. |

Department Update |
Deputy Director
Nancie McAnaugh came to give the department update.
The department has reorganized since the
last board meeting. The divisions were evaluated and placed
into four new divisions: Division of Senior and Disability
Services, Division or Regulation and Licensure, Division
of Community and Public Health, and the Departmental Support
Services Division. In addition, the department now only
has one deputy director.
Currently the department is extremely busy
with Hurricane Katrina. The Center for Emergency Response
and Terrorism is working with other agencies to help with
the situation. The department is helping prepare a site
at the St. Louis Airport for those who evacuated New Orleans. |
