2007 Missouri County-level Study to begin
Missouri adults may soon receive a telephone call requesting to be interviewed for the 2007 Missouri County-level Study. Telephone numbers are randomly selected for the study. An interviewer from the University of Missouri-Columbia will identify him/herself as calling on behalf of the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services and the Missouri Foundation for Health, and then will ask how many male and female adults live in the household to randomly choose the person to be interviewed. Those selected are asked to please participate in the confidential, anonymous interview that will take approximately 20 minutes for most adults. Questions are asked about health conditions, practices such as tobacco use, and other issues such as health checkups by a doctor. It is important that all those selected participate in this important study funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health. The interviews will be conducted statewide for 12 months, with results available on the Department's website by summer 2008.
